UST Hires New Director of Water and Sewer Resources

A motion was approved at Monday's township meeting to hire Chris Cope as the new Director of Water and Sewer Resources.

After 22 years as the City of Allentown’s industrial waste manager, Chris Cope has been hired as the new director of water and sewer resources for Upper Saucon Township.

The job became available in early June, and after two rounds of interviewing, Cope was nominated for the position.

He sees his new job as a challenging and exciting opportunity to head departments for both water and sewer.

“I would like to see advancement in technology going forward, an improvement of resources, and to help the township with financial gain as much as possible,” Cope said of some goals he hopes to achieve.

Although a few details are still being sorted out, Cope anticipates he will begin his new job mid to late August.
