Coopersburg Awards Police Officer, Recognizes Peace Officer Memorial Week
Coopersburg Officer Joseph Hetton was given a certificate of appreciation for his work in a PA Aggressive Driving and Education Program in 2008 during National Peace Officer Memorial Week.

, at last Tuesday's meeting, recognized Officer Joseph Hetton for his work during a 2008 PA Aggressive Driving and Education Program and announced Peace Officer Memorial Week.
Police Chief Daniel Trexler and awarded Officer Joseph Hetton a certificate of appreciation for his work during the 2008 PA Aggressive Driving and Education Program. “It’s very easy to forget on a day-to-day basis what you do out there,” said Mack.
Councilman Jack Felch announced that Tuesday was National Peace Officers Memorial Day, part of a weeklong memorial for police officers. He played a YouTube video memorializing fallen officers.

Hetton, meanwhile, thanked Trexler and Mack for the award, and said of the video, “It’s rough watching that video ... you try not to think about that stuff.”
Solicitor Chris Gittinger recalled an incident with his wife, who worked in law enforcement. “I remember getting a call from my wife [after news was released about an officer shooting], saying she was not the deputy sheriff who had been shot that day.”
