Esteemed 6th-Grade Teacher Retires

Robert Shaffer's retirement is one of three approved by the Southern Lehigh School Board at its meeting Monday night.

The Southern Lehigh School Board Monday night approved the retirements of three district staff members:

Robert Shaffer, Grade 6 Teacher, Joseph P. Liberati Intermediate School, who has been an employee of the district for 34 years.

School board member James Lindsay says he has sent two children through the intermediate school who had the good fortune to experience Shaffer as a teacher, and regrets that his third child will not get the opportunity to be in Shaffer’s class.
