(Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania) Join Chef Shuji Hiyakawa and his culinary team as they celebrate the harvest season through a gastronome's exploration of the many wonderful varieties of Subarashii Kudamono Asian Pears.  Subarashii Kudamono Asian Pears, locally grown in the Lehigh Valley region, are unique and exciting ingredients in a creative six- course menu at Kome Restaurant on October 23rd.   Each course will elegantly feature a different variety of Subarashii Kudamono Asian Pear in an original, culinary intepretation as conceived by Chef Shuji exclusively for this dinner event.

'Peared' with each course will be a different Subarashii Kudamono Asian Pear Wines or Spirit, or domestic wines as well as sakes and shochu.  In the days ahead,  a complete menu will be posted at www.wonderfulfruit.com and www.komerestaurant.com.   To share a taste of what Chef Shuji has created for the evening's dymanic event,  using Subarashii's unique yellow pear, the Asaju, Shuji's created marinated sardine with pickled Asaju asian pear with red and yellow bell pepper miso and soy.   "I am so excited to create foods with Subarashii Kudamono" says Shuji.

Each harvest season,  Subarashii Kudamono selects a chef and restaurant with a unique vision for the culinary arts and for Subarashii Kudamono Asian Pears; Subarashii works with them to create a stunning evening featuring delicious and innovative cuisine featuring the orchards' fresh Asian Pears, showcasing their distinctive varieties and flavor profiles.  Inspired by the classic winemaker dinner, vertical tastings, in which different vintage years of a particular wine varietal are sampled in juxtaposition with one another,  Subarashii Kudamono takes this concept to a whole new culinary level in the "Vertical Pear" dining experience.

Shuji and Subarashii met earlier this year at the acclaimed Beard Foundation in New York City in which Shuji featured a dessert cocktail using Subarashii Kudamono Asian Pear Dessert Wine. Subarashii , so enthralled with Shuji creative culinary work,  they participated in a farm-to-table culinary event with Kome this past Spring (called, Tokyo Local) and immediately started discussing a harvest-time event featuring Kome and Subarashii Kudamono Asian Pears.
