Fall Festival, Road Repairs Among Topics at Lower Milford Board Meeting

Township development in critical stages, fall festival excites board, community.

Vice Chairman William Roy encouraged Lower Milford Township residents to become proactive in the coming months during Thursday’s Board of Supervisors meeting.

The township’s is set for Sept. 22 at the municipal building.

“Let’s come out and support the festival,” said Roy. “Let’s support each other and this great township.”

The festival is expected to drive local business with everything from vintage farm tractor displays to blacksmith demonstrations and live music.

Meanwhile, Brandywine Conservancy is preparing the final draft of the , according to the manager’s report. The final proposed Subdivision and Land Development Ordinance draft will be complete for the Planning Commision’s Sept. 10 meeting.

The manager’s report also stated that the Pre-Hazard Mitigation Grant from PEMA/FEMA intended to restore the stream bank along Schultz Bridge Road is anticipated to be released soon. The report reads, “The permit from PA DEP has been received which was needed for the release of the funding. The work cannot take place until after Nov. 1 in accordance with the terms of the permit.”

Roy also noted the attention that has been given to the improvement of township roads.

“Several potholes have been filled and a lot of prep work has been done to start resurfacing within the next year.”

Finally, Roy urged community members in attendance to voice any concerns over these issues or any others, and to use the services of their state representative, .

“I’ve worked with him [Simmons] on several projects in the past,” said Roy. “He’s extremely helpful and I’ve had favorable results.”
