Five Ambulance Teams Respond to Lower Milford Accident

Lower Milford police respond first to accident that leaves four hospitalized.

A head-on collision occurred Wednesday between a car and a minivan on Kings Highway in Lower Milford.

EMS teams responded from Emmaus, Macungie, Upper Saucon, South Mountain Area Medic Five, and Upper Perkiomen. Along with the Lower Milford police, the Lower Milford Fire Company responded as did the company's fire police unit. All were involved in rescue and transport.

The accident occurred at approximately 11:40 on the 7600 stretch of Kings Highway. Lower Milford Police Chief, John Dondero was the first to respond. He was dispatched at approximately 11:49. According to Dondero, there were five people in the car and three people in the minivan. The driver and rear seat passenger of the car received serious injuries and were sent to Lehigh Valley Hospital. The three people in the minivan received minor injuries. Two of them were hospitalized at Lehigh Valley Hospital.

Early scanner feeds report that a utility crew may have contributed to driver confusion in the accident.

“The investigation will continue today and tomorrow,” Dondero said. “There are factors that have to be determined.”
