Kids Day this Saturday at The Promenade Shops at Saucon Valley
See safety and emergency vehicles up close while meeting local firefighters and participating in free fun activities.
This Saturday from 11am to 2pm, fire trucks, police cruisers, ambulances and other emergency vehicles will be rolling their way into the Promenade Shops at Saucon Valley for Kids Day. In partnership with the Upper Saucon Kiwanis Club, Kids Day will host a variety of activities and exhibits to help families explore safety.
On site, kids can test their skills at emergency evacuation in the interactive Fire Safety House that will be on exhibit. This two-story mobile classroom is designed to simulate and provide the opportunity to practice what to do in the event of a real house fire.
Admission to the Fire Safety House and all of the exhibits is free.

Roaming throughout the Promenade, Miss Maggie Moo, Subman from Subway, the Nestle Bunny, the Red Robin and Qu-Bot from QNB will be welcoming families to the activities.
Several shops have organized children’s activities. Barnes & Noble will host special story times with games and crafts as well as a martial arts demonstration at 12:30pm. Kids can race legos at Bricks 4 Kidz for a prize or participate in a good old-fashioned relay race at New Balance. They might rather race toward Fuzziwig’s Candy Factory for the candy activity, though, or to Dandelion for coloring activities and snacks.

Other stores are offering savings and discounts, including Sweet & Sassy, Sneaker King and Color Me Mine Pottery. If you haven’t finished school shopping, now is a good time take advantage of the discounts at Old Navy, where Alex’s Lemonade Stand will be set up next to the face-painting booth.
Take your little fashionistas to Sweet & Sassy to enter to win a “Diva for a Day” Spa package and they will be treated to free glitter stars, glitter hair and balloons. Then enter to win a girl’s pearl jewelry set at Murphy Jewelers and leave with a candy necklace.
All this fun is enough to build up an appetite. Stop in for lunch at Cosi for a $3.99 kids meal deal, Subway for a $2.99 kids-pak meal or Red Robin for a Free Freckled Lemonade with your child’s lunch.
