Local State Rep to Host Free Shredding Event
Documents containing sensitive personal information may be destroyed for free on Saturday.

In an effort to combat identity theft in the Lehigh Valley, state (R-131) is encouraging residents and businesses in his district to attend a free shredder event he is hosting on Saturday, June 9, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
“We all know that identity theft is a growing problem nationwide. Now, more than ever, we need to protect our private information and make sure it is destroyed properly,” Simmons said in a recent press release. “But many people do not have access to a shredder that can process large amounts of documents, which puts them at greater risk for fraud or theft."
Residents and businesses are encouraged to bring documents that contain sensitive information, such as Social Security numbers, medical information or bank account numbers, to be thoroughly shredded free of charge.
