Meet the Lehigh County Candidates at Forum Friday

The League of Women's Voters is sponsoring a candidate's forum Friday. The election is Nov. 5.

Want to meet the candidates for Lehigh County executive and county commissioner?

Do you have something want to ask them? Eager to learn about the issues?

Now's your chance.

The League of Women Voters of Lehigh County is hosting a candidates' night at 7 p.m. Friday, and you will have the opportunity to ask written questions. The forum will be held at the county Government Center, 17 S. 7th St., Allentown.

Lehigh County Executive candidates Scott Ott, a Republican, and Tom Muller, a Democrat, will each give opening statements before answering questions.

PoliticsPA has dubbed the Lehigh County Executive Race as one of the "13 Most Interesting" political races in Pennsylvania this year.

Also scheduled to appear are the following Commissioner candidates who are in contested races:

  • District 2, Republican Percy Dougherty, of Lower Macungie, and Democrat Susan Ellis Wild, of South Whitehall. District 2 includes South Whitehall, Lower Macungie, Upper Macungie and Alburtis.
  • District 5, Republican Michael Schware, of Allentown, and Democrat Wes Barrett, of Emmaus. District 5 includes Salisbury Township, Emmaus, Macungie, Upper Milford, Lower Milford, Coopersburg, Upper Saucon Township and parts of Allentown.
  • District 1, Republican Thomas Creighton of Lynn Township and Democrat Bill Leiner of Coplay. District 1 included North Whitehall, Weisenberg, Lynn, Heidleberg, Washington, Lowhill, Slatington, Whitehall and Coplay.
The public is invited. 

Parking is available across the street from the Goverment Center on Seventh Street. Fee is $1.
