LV Company Spins Olympic Contribution

Kraemer Yarns on South Main Street in Nazareth makes Olympic news.

By Alison Smith

When athletes from the United States clothed in Ralph Lauren walked in the opening ceremonies of the 2012 London Olympics, much of the focus wasn’t on what they were wearing, but where it was made.

The 2012 team uniforms were made in China, sparking anger and disbelief. Ralph Lauren promised to do better next time. And it did — all of the uniforms for the Sochi Games are made in the U.S.A.

But it wasn’t just the garments themselves that were made here in America — Kraemer Yarns on South Main Street in Nazareth spun 6,000 pounds of yarn right here in the Lehigh Valley for use in the Olympic uniforms, The Express-Times is reporting.
