Police searched a stopped car on I-78 and allegedly found drugs.

A Port Jervis, N.Y. man was arrested on drug charges after police found he was carrying marijuana and cocaine, according to an affadavit filed by Upper Saucon Township police.

Police say they were patroling on Interstate 78 Westbound on Nov. 2 when they spotted a car with its lights on parked on the shoulder of the highway. They checked the car's registration, which they found to be suspended and questioned the driver, Roberto S. Zorrilla.

Police, who were joined by a state trooper, detected an odor of marijuana and Zorrilla consented to a search of the car. A passenger, William Mendez, 30, of Port Jervis, allegedly admitted he had marijuana in a leather case and let police see it. They reportedly found two baggies of marijuana. A search of Mendez turned up a baggie of suspected cocaine in his boot, the affidavit said.
