Solehi Board Will Honor Students at Monday's Meeting

Students will take center stage at Monday's Southern Lehigh school board meeting as part of a new recognition program.

Good vibrations will be in the air at Monday night’s meeting of the
Southern Lehigh School Board, thanks to a new initiative launched by
Superintendent of Schools Leah Christman and the board.

Expect Monday’s meeting to begin with special recognition of some SoLeHi students, who will be brought to the front of the meeting and given a certificate of congratulations by School Board President Jeffrey Dimmig, according to Christman.

The initiative, which will kick off all SoLeHi board meetings in the future, is designed to recognize the many wonderful things the district’s kids are doing at all grade levels. These accomplishments will likely be “things that kids would not get a whole lot of recognition for,” Christman says. “We are going to mix up the grade levels and move to different buildings.”

For right now, building administrators are nominating the students for this recognition, Christman says, “but if there’s something happening, let us know.”

The Southern Lehigh School Board meets Monday night at 7:30 in the board room in Southern Lehigh High School.
