SoLeHi Girls Lacrosse Edged Out of Championship

Girls finish second to Emmaus in hard fought game

Until the final minutes of Monday's Lehigh Valley Girls Lacrosse championships, it was unclear who would pull off the victory.  Both SoLeHi and Emmaus came prepared to be the champions.  When it appeared Emmaus would dominate the game in the first half by taking the lead 2-0, SoLeHi quickly fought back and scored two quick goals to take the tie up the game, and a third goal 40 seconds later to take the lead.  Emmaus scrambled back with a goal and half-time saw a tie score between the two tough teams.

In the second half, Emmaus would once again claim the lead, only to be tied again by Southern Lehigh.  The Hornet girls came back with two goals to take the lead 9-7 with 7 minutes left in the game.  Although several scoring efforts came close, neither team scored another goal for the remainder of the game, leaving the Emmaus Hornet girls to claim the Lehigh Valley Championship.

SoLeHi finished the season in second place, with an overall record of 14-6.  The girls will move on to the District XI tournament play, with dates and times to be announced shortly.
