Solehi Public Library Puts Coopersburg Borough on Notice
Borough representative to the library must be appointed before July 1

Coopersburg borough is looking for a new library representative. At the May 10 borough meeting, council members discussed a letter from the Southern Lehigh Public Library that stated the three-year term for Coopersburg’s representative to the library’s Board of Directors, Philip Reiss, will expire June 30. He has informed the board he does not wish to seek re-appointment for a second term.
In order to continue the work of the Board of Directors without interruption, a representative must be appointed by July 1. This term will expire on June 30, 2014.
In addition, the council discussed an Amber Alert sign owned by Fred Derby. "The sign does not appear to be working properly," said Borough Manager Dawn Kresge. Kresge said she made arrangements to carry out a test on the sign, which is controlled by Yurkonics, located in South Dakota. If it is found that the sign is not properly working, the matter will be forwarded to the borough’s zoning officer, Barry Isett and Associates, because the malfunctioning sign will be in violation of the agreement with the borough.
