SoLeHi Softball Wins Colonial League Championship

Spartan women top Pen Argyl 3-2 for crown

Thanks to the superb pitching of Junior Katie Tankred, the Southern Lehigh girls softball team obtained the first Colonial League Championship since 2003.  Tankred's performance was calm and precise, even in the face of a brief rally by Pen Argyl that managed to put two runs on the scoreboard.  And the Spartan infield and outfield supported Tankred, making short work of the Pen Argyl rally and quickly dispensing of the Pen Argyl team in the nineth inning.

Junior Corinne "Cory" Ozanne led the Spartan bats by putting two runs on the board, including beating Pen Argyl catcher Kaycie Stem at the base for the "Safe" call.  Ozanne, who is verbally committed to Syracuse University, was also voted to the Colonial League All-Star team by unanimous decision.  Ozanne was joined on the All-Star team by catcher Shelby Wilson and pitcher Katie Tankred.

Senior Eleni Dimou was a second team selection for second base and Jen Hallowell was an honorable selection for first base.
