The week before the Spring Break is normally a light week for Spring sports.  However make-up games plumped up the week schedule, making it an exciting time for Spring sports.

Boys Varsity Baseball (5-4)

Boys Varsity Baseball entered the week with a daunting schedule, looking to complete two scheduled games and make up two rain-delayed games from previous weeks.  Monday’s action saw the Spartan boys beating Palmerton by a resounding 12-2.  The boys did not fare as well against North Conference leader  Northern Lehigh on Wednesday, posting a 2-9 loss.  The team then faced both Notre Dame Green Pond and South Conference Leader Salisbury on Thursday, splitting with a win against NDGP and a loss against tough Salisbury. 

The week’s performance was enough to capture second place standing in the Colonial League South Division behind Salisbury, who sports a record of 5-2.  This week the team takes on Bangor (6-3) on Wednesday and Wilson (1-7) on Friday and makes up a rain delay with Northwestern Lehigh (3-5) on Tuesday.

Boys Tennis (11-1)

Spartan Boys Tennis experienced a strong week, posting wins in a scheduled game against Palisades, as well as two rain make-ups against Bangor and Notre Dame East Stroudsburg.  The team’s only loss this season came against Moravian, the South Division leader and only undefeated team in Colonial League play. 

Regular play will wrap up this week with a rematch against Moravian scheduled for Monday and Saucon Valley on Wedesday.  The Colonial League tournament will commence the week of May 2^nd.

HS Track and Field (Boys 3-2, Girls 2-3)

SoLeHi Track participated in a tri-meet with Northwestern Lehigh and Northern Lehigh on Wednsday.  The boys team turned in a win against Northwestern Lehigh and a loss to Northern Lehigh.  The girls team turned in a loss to Northwestern Lehigh and a win against Northern Lehigh.  Updated individual League rankings are listed at the end of this article.  The girls and boys track team go up face Salisbury on Tuesday.

Girls Varsity Softball (7-1)

The Southern Lehigh Girls Softball team experienced their first Colonial League loss this week against Northern Lehigh in a game that saw the Northern Lehigh Bulldogs rack up 4 runs, while shutting out the Spartan hitters.  This game followed Monday’s 4-3 Spartan win over Palmerton.  The SoLeHi Softball team now is in second place behind undefeated Saucon, who took over the number one position in South Division.  Monday’s play pits rivals Southern Lehigh and Saucon Valley in what promises to be a tough game for both teams.  The Spartan girls will also be making up a rain delayed game with Northwestern Lehigh on Tuesday and will play two  regular scheduled games with Bangor on Wednesday and Wilson on Saturday.

Girls Soccer (6-2-1)

The Spartan Girls soccer team posted two wins against Notre Dame Green Pond (1-0) and Palmerton (4-1).   Although the girls are having a winning season,  they sit in fourth place in the Colonial League South Division, behind undefeated Saucon Valley (8-0), Wilson (8-2), and Moravian (6-2).  The girls face tough Saucon Valley twice this week, the first time on the Panther field on Monday in a rain delay make-up,  as well as on Friday on the Spartan home field.  The girls also face Salisbury (3-6) on Wednesday
