Boys Football
Boys Varsity Football lost a heartbreaking season opener to Northern Lehigh, 21-7 (see ). The loss did not hurt the boys' standing in the Colonial League South, since every Colonial League South team lost its opening game. The team travels to Palmerton to take on the Blue Bombers Friday night.
The Boys Freshman Team lost its season opener to Emmaus, 26-6. The team has a week off before meeting Pocono Mountain East on Sept. 13.

Middle School and JV results were not available in time for this article. Both teams are off this week and will pick up play next week.
Girls Tennis

The Girls Varsity Tennis team posted its first loss of the season to Moravian Academy, 1-4, last Monday on its home court. The team bounced back to defeat Saucon Valley, 3-2, on Wednesday and Wilson, 5-0, on Thursday. This week, the team faces Pen Argyl at home at 4pm Tuesday and then heads to Notre Dame Green Pond at 4pm Thursday. The loss puts the Spartan girls in second place in the Colonial League South behind Moravian Academy, which is undefeated in league play.
Girls Volleyball
The Girls Volleyball team travels north on Tuesday to take on Stroudsburg at 7pm.
Boys Soccer
The boys soccer team will begin its season Tuesday at home against Palmerton. The varsity game is slotted for 4pm while the JV team will play after varsity at 5:30. The boys then travel north to meet rival Northwestern Lehigh on Thursday.
Girls Field Hockey
The varsity and junior varsity teams host Wilson at home for their season openers on Wednesday (Sept. 7) at 4 pm. The girls travel to Moravian Acadamy for their next games on Friday, Sept. 9.
Varsity Golf
The golf team posted a win last Monday in a tri-match with Pen Argyl and Northwestern Lehigh. The score was Southern Lehigh 393, Northwestern 410 and Pen Argyl 446. The team now boasts a 7-1 record, which puts it in second place behind Notre Dame Green Pond, which is undefeated in league play. The team will go up against Saucon Valley on Tuesday and Wilson on Thursday.
Boys and Girls Cross Country
This Wednesday will mark the beginning the Boys and Girls Cross Country teams' season in a multischool meet at Palisades. Catasauqua, Saucon Valley, Northwestern Lehigh, Northern Lehigh and Palisades also will be participating. The meet starts at 4pm and the boys will be running first. The teams also will be participating in the DeSales Invitational on Saturday.
FUN RUNS
