Girls Tennis prevails, Boys Football and Soccer scrimmage.
Boys Football
The Boys Football Booster Club hosted Meet the Players night Thursday night for Middle School, Freshman, JV and Varsity teams, as well as the Middle School, JV and Varsity Cheerleaders. After a dinner consisting of dishes provided by parents, the Cheerleaders performed routines for the crowd, followed by coaches introducing the players.
Boys Freshman, JV and Varsity football participated in a scrimmage Friday against Upper Perkiomen at home. The scrimmage is the last before the season-opening game at home Friday against Northern Lehigh. Varsity plays at 7pm.

Other games this week include Middle School Football at home on Monday at 4:00pm B vs. Northeast; Freshman Football at Emmaus at 10am and JV Football at Northern Lehigh at 11:15am on Saturday.
Girls Tennis

The girls Varsity Tennis team posted two wins to its record with a 5-0 win over Palisades on Wednesday and a 5-0 win over Salisbury on Friday. Thursday’s match against Jim Thorpe was postponed to Sept. 7 at 4pm. This week, the team takes on Moravian Academy Monday at 4pm (home), Saucon Valley on Wednesday at 4pm (home) and Wilson on Thursday at 4pm (away).
Girls Volleyball
The Girls Volleyball team continues prepping for its season with a final scrimmage Tuesday against Quakertown at 6pm in Quakertown. The girls have their season opener Friday at home against Bethlehem Catholic at 5:30pm.
Boys Soccer
The boys varsity and Junior Varsity Soccer teams hosted a Play Day at Southern Lehigh on their home fields Saturday. The Playday was attended by teams from Palisades, Schuylkilll Valley, Phillipsburg, Pocono Mountain East, Boyertown and East Stroudsburg South. The boys showed some “good stuff” during their scrimmages and will continue working hard in preparation for the season. The opening game is Tuesday, Sept. 6 at home against Palmerton.
Girls Field Hockey
The Varsity and Junior Varsity teams scrimmaged Quakertown and Souderton high schools last week in preparation for their season opener Wednesday, Sept. 7 against Wilson at home.
Varsity Golf
The Golf team posted a three-win, one-loss week. The team defeated Palmerton twice (double match), as well as Wilson. The team lost to Notre Dame Green Pond by 11 strokes. The team will meet Northwestern Lehigh and Pen Argyl on Monday, and Moravian Academy on Tuesday.
Boys and Girls Cross Country
The Cross Country teams will be participating in their first event on Sept. 7.
FUN RUNS
Fall is bringing cooler weather that is much more pleasant for running. Many events will be hosted in the upcoming weeks, including:
Morning Star Rotary 10K and 5K Run/Walk, Saturday Sept. 24 at 8am – this interesting event also includes awards for those running in kilts. Information can be found on the website www.morningstar5k.com. The race will benefit Special Olympics and other charitable organizations.
Third Annual Catherine Boulay Foundation Fight Like a Girl 5K Run-Walk-Family Fun Day, Saturday, Sept. 17, 9am at Lehigh Parkway. The event is designed to support cancer patients, families and caregivers on their journey through cancer. More information can be found on the foundation's website.
Isa’s Run for a Cure 1st Annual 5K Run&Walk, Saturday, Sept. 17, 8 am at the Bethlehem Rose Garden. Isabella “Isa” Gonzalez has been fighting cancer since age 4 weeks, and money from this run will be donated to Alex’s Lemonade Stand. For more information, contact Alisa Gonzalez at 610-849-2447.
10th Annual Northampton Boro Rec Center 5K Race, Saturday, Oct. 1 at 9:30am. All proceeds benefit the Northampton Borough Recreation Center. For additional information, contact Robert Weinhofer at 610-502-2990.
