Varsity Football lost a tough game to undefeated Bangor, 28-26. Despite a solid performance from snior Jake Meluskey, who crossed the goal line four times for the Spartan offense, the failure to convert extra points in the third and fourth quarters saw the SoLeHi team come up two points short. The team returns home this Friday to face Northwestern Lehigh at Spartan Stadium at 7pm. The team still remains in first place in the Colonial League South Division with a record of 1-2.
The JV Team continues to dominate, treating the Palmerton Blue Bombers to a 20-0 loss last Monday. This Monday the team faces Bangor at home at 5:45 pm.
The Freshman team had an upsetting loss to Pocono Mountain East, 18-12. The boys face Marian Catholic on Monday at 6:30pm in Tamaqua and Upper Perkiomen Thursday at 3:45pm in Pennsburg.

The girls will be hosting their annual Dig Pink game on Oct. 12. This game, a tradition with rival school Saucon Valley, features pink uniform additions and usually a mostly pink audience. Revenue from the event, including sales of the bright pink T-shirts, benefits breast cancer research.
Boys Soccer
The boys continued a strong season, defeating Northern Lehigh at home, 6-1. They downed the Rough Riders in Catasauqua on Wednesday, 6-0, and tied Bangor at home on Friday. The boys' 3-0-1 record puts them in a three-way tie for third place in the Colonial League South Division, along with Saucon Valley and Palisades. The boys travel to Notre Dame East Stroudsburg on Tuesday and then face Pen Argyl at home on Thursday. Friday will be a make-up game --an away match against Northwestern Lehigh.

It hosted rival Saucon Valley on Thursday and treated the visitors to a 3-0 loss. The team wrapped up the week with a strong 5-0 finish against Salisbury on Saturday at Salisbury. The team's 5-0 record puts it firmly in first place in Colonial League play and makes the girls a serious contender for the league championship. The girls are the only Colonial League squad with an undefeated league record.
This week the team faces Pen Argyl on Monday at home at 4pm and then travels to Northwestern Lehigh on Wednesday. It wraps up the week by hosting Catasauqua at home on Friday at 4pm.
