THIS WEEK'S FEATURED RECREATION AREA: Cedar Creek Park

Many people are unaware of the full scope of activities offered at Allentown’s Cedar Creek Park. The area takes its name from the stream that meanders through the park, pooling into a small lake known as Lake Muhlenberg.  The park includes walking and jogging trails, the beautiful Allentown Rose Garden, known for its lovely blooms from early spring until late fall, as well as athletic courts, a large new playground, picnic pavilions and also a community pool.  The athletic court areas, known as Cedar Beach, are the site of summer basketball leagues for area youth, as well as the Stellar tournament that takes place this week and Sportsfest , a multi-sport event happening from July 14-17.

The park is a short drive and is in the West End section of Allentown. Put on your walking shoes and pay this lovely park a visit this week.
