Southern Lehigh Stingrays Will Host Swim Meet

Southern Lehigh's Stingray Swim Team will be this year's host for the annual Summer Splash at the newly revamped Soleco Pool.

The 31st Annual Summer Splash is taking place at the on Saturday, July 9 and Southern Lehigh’s  will be this year’s host.

The event brings together boys and girls ages 6 though 18 from various area swim teams for a fun day of meets.

Spectators are welcome to come cheer on their favorite swimmers, and there will be plenty of free parking. Breakfast, lunch and snacks will be available.

Each swimmer may enter a maximum of two relays and five individual events. Meets begin at 8am, though gates open at 6:15am, allowing those participating to arrive prior to warm-ups at 7am.

Swimmers will have the chance to compete in 100 and 200 medleys as well as 100 and 200 free relays. Individual events will include the 25-meter free, 25-meter back, 25-meter breast, 50-meter fly, 50-meter free, 50-meter breast, 100-meter free and 100-meter IM.

Awards will be given for individual events with medals for those finishing first through third, and ribbons for those finishing fourth through 12th. There also will be high point trophies awarded to the male and female placing first, second and third in each age group.

The Southern Lehigh Community Pool is in  and recently after undergoing the first phase of much-needed renovations. The pool will be available for public swimming after the event from 5 to 8pm.
