The Crowded Kitchen Players at McCoole's Arts & Events Place Present “Too Clever By Half or Diary of a Scoundrel”

Too Clever By Half follows the audacious efforts of Yegor

Gloumov who contrives to rise above his lowborn station by any means possible,

one precarious rung at a time, up the social ladder. In Gloumov's case, that

means the exhausting chore of pandering to the dotty patrons, matrons, and

distant relatives glaring down at him from each succeeding level, and wooing

and winning their frustrated wives and their even more curious daughters, tasks

for which his good looks, charm, and facile tongue have him well-suited.

However, by keeping a detailed record of his true feelings toward the people he

is exploiting along the way, and worse, by allowing that diary to fall into the

hands of his enemies, he foolishly imperils the improbable gains he has so

swiftly achieved in this cleverly entertaining farce.
