The following incidents have been reported by the Upper Saucon Police Department:
Undercover Drug Arrest
- Jared Beers, 23, was arrested on Feb. 3 at 8:15pm and charged with two counts of delivery of a controlled substance and one count of possession of controlled substance. Beers allegedly sold a quantity of marijuana to an undercover police officer of the Lehigh County Drug Task Force.

The affidavit says Beers arranged with an Upper Saucon police officer to exchange an amount of marijuana for money. Beers sold the substance to an undercover officer, and the substance later tested positive for marijuana.
Beers and two others, Issac Gonzalez and Rennie Tyrell Waats, were charged. Bail for Beers was set at $10,000.

Possession of Marijuana
- Wilfredo Ramos, 22, was arrested on May 11 at 3:28pm and charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana. The arresting officer alleges in the affidavit, “I was in full uniform riding a marked police bicycle. At this time I was riding on a patrol in the Promenade Shops Mall near Kome’ Restaurant intersection with Rave Theater. While riding, I suddenly smelled the extremely strong odor of fresh burning marihuana [marijuana].” A white Ford passed the officer and the officer pulled the vehicle over.
The driver of the vehicle was identified as Ramos. The officer asked Ramos where the marijuana was and Ramos revealed a blunt cigar under the driver compartment cup holder.
Ramos was taken into custody and his vehicle was searched. The criminal complaint says, “While conducting the inventory, I located a sandwich bag of green fresh leafy material in the driver center console of the vehicle. The green material field tested positive for marihuana [marijuana].”
DUIs
- On April 25 at 2:53am, police arrested Stacy Pletz, 32, on Interstate 78 at mile-marker 61.8 for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol. According to the affidavit, police pulled over a black Nissan when it was observed driving erratically. Pletz was identified as the driver. Police detected the odor of alcohol on the car and had Pletz perform a field sobriety test.
According to the arresting officer, “After speaking with the defendant and observing her actions during the [Standardized Field Sobriety Tests], it was my opinion that the defendant was incapable of safely operating a motor vehicle.”
Pletz was taken into custody, where blood tests revealed she had a blood-alcohol content of 0.26 percent -- more than three times the legal limit of 0.08 percent.
- On May 25 at 2:22am, Stephen Miller, 29, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, speeding, careless driving and failing to drive in lane. The criminal complaint does not go into detail on Miller’s arrest, but it says Miller was arrested in the 4800 block of Limeport Pike. Miller’s blood-alcohol content was cited as between 0.10 percent and 0.16 percent. The criminal complaint goes on to state that Miller was traveling at 93.9 mph in a 45-mph zone and failed to stay within his lane of travel.
