Volunteers, Lifestyle Change Nominees Sought for American Heart Association Event

The American Heart Association, Lehigh Valley Division is seeking volunteers to participate in a performance during their 2014 IGNITE black-tie charity ball, scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014. They are also asking for nominations of individuals who have made a significant positive lifestyle change to be honored during the event.

 

Performance volunteers will need to participate in several practice sessions in addition to the performance on Feb. 22. The performance will focus on the event’s theme, “change.”

Three Lehigh Valley area residents who have made a positive change in their lifestyle, such as quitting smoking, losing weight through healthy eating and exercise, or getting their blood pressure or cholesterol under control, will be chosen to be honored during the performance. Individuals may nominate themselves or someone they know by submitting their story and related photographs.

Anyone interested in volunteering for the performance or submitting a person to be recognized for a positive lifestyle change should contact Ann Marie Bolen at the American Heart Association at annmarie.bolen@heart.org or submit their information to 212 E. Broad St., Bethlehem, Pa. 18018. The deadline for submitting nominations is July 25; selection will be made by Aug. 15.
