UPPER SOUTHAMPTON TOWNSHIP, PA — The Upper Southampton Police Department is alerting residents about a phone scam.
Upper Southampton Police said concerned citizens have reported phone scams involving individuals masquerading as Bucks County Sheriff's Deputies.
These individuals claim to have an arrest warrant and demand payment to prevent an arrest, police said.
Police said the individuals will use official-sounding language, provide legitimate deputy names, and email documents which appear to be valid.
The Bucks County Sheriff's Department does not contact people via phone or email and demand payment to avoid or prevent an arrest.
Anyone contacted by individuals who claim to be Deputies, hang up and contact the Bucks County Sheriff's Department at 215-348-6124 to verify if there is any legitimacy.
