Soroptimist International of Indian Rock, Inc. (SIIR) celebrated the presentation of its 54th
annual education scholarship awards on June 3, 2026 at the Spring Mill Country Club, in Ivyland.
During the ceremony, the club presented 15 educational awards totaling more than $18,000.
The SIIR annual educational scholarships are presented to deserving young women graduating
from a Bucks County high school who have been accepted to a 2- or 4-year college or
certificate/licensing program for the fall semester. Students are considered based on their GPA,
financial need, confronting obstacles, extracurricular and leadership activities, community
service, employment, and personal essay.
Reflecting on the dedication of the women of SIIR to aiding women’s education, President
Jenny Lichtner said, “We are so proud of our impact once again this year for young women. It’s
only through the generosity of our members and growing community of supporters, sponsors,
and donors that we can continue to extend financial support to so many deserving students.”
SIIR presented 2 financial grants from their mission-centric Soroptimist Dream Programs that
were underwritten by SIIR. Both were given to college-bound, high school graduates who
attended the prerequisite 2026 Dream It, Be It: Career Support for Girls Conference (DIBI).
An additional thirteen students were presented with club scholarship awards. Three high school
graduates received SIIR Scholarship Awards for their first year of college. Continuing Education
Scholarship Awards were given to ten other college students, some of whom have been
supported through all four years of their college undergraduate studies. These awards were
underwritten by SIIR and the Frances Snow Memorial Fund. “SIIR offers scholarships to two-
and four-year colleges as well as to schools offering certificate and licensing programs. We
know one size does not fit all,” said Nancy Montvydas, Scholarship Committee Co-chair.
SIIR is one of 1,000 Soroptimist clubs in 20 countries and territories in the Americas and Pacific
