NEWTOWN, Pa. — Sept. 30, 2026 — Autism Cares Foundation has concluded its 2026 Race 4 Resources fundraising campaign, bringing together more than 1000 individuals for a day of community, connection and support for people with autism and other social and cognitive disabilities.
Launched in May, Race 4 Resources culminated Sept. 19 with a celebration at Bucks County Community College in Newtown. The event featured a challenging 5K through Tyler State Park, a 1-mile family walk through the college campus, a large service provider expo connecting families with local resources, and a full morning of music, activities and entertainment for children and adults with autism and other social and cognitive disabilities.
The event served as the centerpiece of the foundation's peer-to-peer fundraising campaign, which brings together individuals, families, friends, businesses and community members to raise funds in support of Autism Cares Foundation's programs and resources.
"It was a fantastic day, and I was thrilled with the incredible turnout," said Kimberly Smith, chief operating officer of Autism Cares Foundation. "Seeing families come together to enjoy the morning, connect with one another, and learn about the many services available in our community made the event truly special."
Smith also recognized the volunteers, sponsors and service providers who helped make the event possible.
"A huge thank you goes out to our dedicated volunteers, generous sponsors, providers, and everyone who helped make this event such a success," Smith said. "Their support and commitment to our organization is what made the day possible."
For ACF board member and Outback Steakhouse Market Vice President Schi Berk, the event carried a special personal significance.
"The Race for Resources is a day that means a lot to me personally," Berk said. "As a board member of the Autism Cares Foundation, I'm incredibly proud to be part of an organization that makes such a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with autism and their families."
Berk and his team also helped provide food for the event through Outback Steakhouse, Bonefish Grill and Carrabba's. His wife led the pre-race warmup, adding another personal connection to the day's celebration.
"It was amazing to see so many people come together to support such an important mission," Berk said.
The funds raised through Race 4 Resources help Autism Cares Foundation continue providing activities, programs and resources throughout the year. For 19 years, the foundation has worked to create opportunities and build community for children, teens and adults with autism and other social and cognitive disabilities.
"The success of Race 4 Resources is about much more than one day," said Smith. "It is about making sure individuals and families have access to the activities, programs, connections and resources they need throughout the year."
Autism Cares Foundation extends its appreciation to the participants, fundraising teams, sponsors, volunteers, service providers and community members who supported the 2026 Race 4 Resources campaign and helped make the celebration possible.
