OLGC Bus Wrap Contest Winners Revealed!

An assembly was held on Friday, January 23, 2015 at Our Lady of Good Counsel (OLGC) School in Southampton PA where the Bucks County Department of Health and Bucks County Immunization Coalition along with their immunization coalition partners revealed the winners of their bus wrap art contest. Our Lady of Good Counsel School had winners in 1st and 2nd place, as well as 2 honorable mention awards. 7th and 8th grade students in Bucks County Schools were invited to participate in this art contest promoting vaccinations with the theme “Pay it forward, Get vaccinated today for a healthy tomorrow. The artwork will be displayed on a Bucks County Transit Bus for three months.

OLGC Pastor Father Robert Suskey and Principal Frank Mokriski presented the awards to the winning students. “We are proud of our students for participating in this contest to raise vaccine awareness” said Principal Mokriski. Dr. David Damsker, Director of BCHD promoted vaccination awareness by saying, “We need to raise community awareness on importance of vaccinations in preventing and reducing the spread of disease. Not only do vaccines protect the individual it also protects whole communities.” The Our Lady of Good Counsel winners of the art contest are as follows:

1st place – Casey Taylor- 7th Grade

2nd place – Stephanie Kraft - 7th Grade

Honorable Mention – Amanda McKenney - 8th Grade

Honorable Mention – Alexis Haupert - 7th Grade
