Recycle Old Electronics In Southampton Next Month

This is perfect for people who get new electronics over the holidays and want to safely dispose of old ones.

With Christmas approaching, there's a good chance you might have some outdated electronics after Dec. 25.

What to do with those old TVs, phones, computers, etc.?

Well the Redemption Episcopal Church and PAR-RecycleWorks are teaming up to help you safely get rid of your electronics.

From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.on Saturday, Jan. 21, the church will host an electronic recycling event for the public.

All you need to do is show up to the church, 1101 2nd Street Pike, Southampton, and let volunteers and PAR-RecycleWorks crews unload your electronics.

Items accepted include flat screen TVs and monitors, laptops, desktop computers, tablets, printers, scanners, fax machines, cell phones, keyboards, iPods, MP3 players, Fitbits, VCRs, DVD players, cords, game systems, and more.

Cathode ray tube TVs and computer monitors (those are the old ones that are big and heavy) will not be accepted.

All hard drives from computers will be wiped clean of any remaining data.

In the event of inclement weather, the event will be rescheduled for Saturday, Jan. 28.
