Severe Thunderstorms, 'Damaging' Winds Possible In Bucks County Tuesday

Severe thunderstorms are possible in Bucks County Tuesday afternoon and evening, forecasters say.

The National Weather Service issued a severe weather outlook for Tuesday.

Severe thunderstorms are possible Tuesday afternoon and evening as a cold front travels through the area. Damaging winds and small hail are possible, according to AccuWeather (see photo).

“The biggest threats with these storms will be torrential rain and gusty winds in excess of 60 mph,” AccuWeather Meteorologist Edward Vallee said on his agency’s site.

According to the National Weather Service, the forecast for Monday and Tuesday is:

Monday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 69. Southwest wind around 6 mph.

Tuesday: Showers and thunderstorms likely after noon. Some storms could be severe, with damaging winds. Partly sunny, with a high near 89. South wind 10 to 18 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Tuesday night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 2 a.m. Partly cloudy, with a low around 67. Northwest wind 7 to 17 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
