STEAM Presentation At Trevose Day School
Learn How Integrating Science & Art Can Help Students Learn Better

Trevose Day School is pleased to host a parent information night about the benefits of a STEAM curriculum, which stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art/Design, and Math. This program will take place February 18 at 7:00 p.m. at Trevose Day School, 4951 Central Avenue, Trevose PA 19053.
Trevose Day School will be implementing an innovative STEAM curriculum in the 2016-17 school year and utilizing it in this year’s summer camp. As the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math, (STEM) curriculum is being implemented in schools across the country, many in education realize the need to add Art/Design as a way to helps students grasp concepts across the curriculum. This information session will give the community a chance to learn more about Trevose Day School’s initiatives in this area and how they will benefit students.
This program will feature a panel presentation by three experts in K-12 education.

· Issam H. Abi-El-Mona, Ph.D., science educator and author with over 25 years of teaching and research experience. He currently heads the science education program at Rowan University and coordinates outreach and training programs with the College of Engineering and Science and Math departments.
· Mel Payne, originally worked in technical sales and as a consultant at Bethlehem Steel, Xerox, AT&T and Comcast for over 30 years. Currently, he works with businesses and educational institutions to develop science and technology educational pathways in order to meet the demand for skilled workers.

· Gwynne Frischmann, Head of School at Trevose Day School, who has over 20 years of experience in education. She previously worked at the Douglass Developmental Disabilities Center at Rutgers University. Her main mission as Head of School is to develop a passion for learning and a sense of security and happiness in each and every child at Trevose Day School.
