Vandals Break Into Closed Warminster School
It is the second time in two weeks of reported break-ins at the former WREC Center.

An unknown group of young vandals are suspected of breaking into the former Hart Elementary School on Little Lane in Warminster Monday afternoon. Photos posted by Centennial School Board President Jane Schrader Lynch on her personal Facebook page show smashed windows and debris about the premises. The vandals are also suspected of riding their bikes through the hallways.
“The police were called over there last week, too,” said Lynch in a phone interview. “I don’t know how they keep getting in, but I wanted to make sure the neighbors know what is happening over there.”

School district custodians were called to the site to board up broken windows and clean up the aftermath. The property, originally an elementary school, housed the offices of the Warminster Parks & Recreation Department until budget problems and costly repairs forced the department to move to a new building at Warminster Community Park.
The township returned the 15-acre site to the school district, which sold the land to Envision Land Use, LLC, for $438,000 in Feb. 25. The development company plans to demolish the building, Lynch said, but first they need approval from the Warminster Zoning Board to change the property from institutional to a residential designation.
