Five Ponds Golf Team to Represent Philly PGA In Tournament

Four Veterans and Five Ponds pro Rick Flagler will compete on May 11 in the Philadelphia PGA Section team event.

WARMINSTER TOWNSHIP, PA — A team from Five Ponds Golf Club will represent the Philadelphia PGA section in the 2026 PGA HOPE Secretary’s Cup next month.

The event will take place on May 11 at Chester Valley Golf Club in Malvern, Spirit Golf Management said.

The team includes four military Veterans and PGA of America Golf Professional Rick Flagler, who is the lead PGA HOPE instructor at Five Ponds.

The veterans named for the team are Joe Dooley of Doylestown, Craig Adams of Chalfont, Mike Rudart of West Norriton, and Steve Fisher of Warminster.

Dooley is a U.S. Navy veteran with 30 years of service, Adams and Rudart are U.S. Air Force veterans with eight years each, and Fisher is a U.S. Navy veteran with 21 years of service.

The PGA HOPE Secretary’s Cup is hosted by the PGA of America REACH Foundation, the charitable foundation of the PGA of America.

The nine-hole competition opens PGA Championship week and includes 12 teams made up of four military Veterans who participated in the PGA HOPE program through their local PGA Section and one PGA of America Golf Professional who supports military programming.

The Five Ponds group qualified after capturing the PGA HOPE Philadelphia Cup in 2025. According to the announcement, Flagler will lead a team of Veterans who graduated from the PGA HOPE program at the Warminster facility.

The PGA HOPE, which stands for Helping Our Patriots Everywhere, as a rehabilitative golf program for Veterans designed to enhance physical, mental, social, and emotional well-being.

It states that participants include veterans living with physical or cognitive challenges such as Traumatic Brain Injury, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, and amputations, among other challenges.

PGA HOPE offers golf instruction through a developmental six- to eight-week curriculum taught by PGA of America Golf Professionals trained in adaptive golf and military cultural competency.

The program is free to veterans and is offered at more than 600 locations, impacting more than 17,000 veterans across the country annually.
