WARMINSTER / HORSHAM TOWNSHIPS, PA — With two fatalities over two straight days on County Line Road, residents want their governments to take action.
County Line Road — which separates Bucks and Montgomery counties — is a parallel state road similar to Street Road, where it runs from Route 611 in Montgomery County to near the Philadelphia border in Bucks County.
"County Line Road is a weave in and out Autobahn" one person posted as a comment on a Patch story about one of the fatal crashes.
Over the past few years, the road has had several fatalities from accidents, including two last week and one in which three people were killed.
Residents have complained about too much traffic and are now calling for speed bumps following the latest fatalities.
A motorcyclist was killed last Wednesday, one day after another man died in a crash.
After last week's fatal crashes, people commented on the Patch stories on Facebook.
"It's time to lower the speed limit," one person commented. "The roadway was built as a 4-lane road and the outer edges are in the same place. They're trying to put 5 pounds in a 4-pound container."
Another poster said the "road is a mess" with potholes the size of moon craters from Blair Mill Road to York Road.
One poster focused on Delmont Avenue in Warminster, where one of the fatal crashes happened.
"When are the police and township going to crack down on the speeding," one commenter stated. "Delmont Avenue needs speed bumps or cameras."
In August 2024, three people were killed and another was in critical condition after a three-vehicle crash on County Line Road.
An initial investigation determined that a Chevy Camaro driven by a 31-year-old man was traveling west on County Line Road near the Warminster border and crossed into the eastbound travel lanes where it struck a Nissan SUV traveling east.
