LOWER BUCKS COUNTY, PA — Bucks County has opened cooling centers after issuing an excessive heat warning through Sunday evening in response to high temperatures gripping the region this Fourth of July holiday weekend.
Officials said that cooling centers will be open to the public in Upper, Central and Lower Bucks County. The centers open at 8 a.m. on Wednesday.

During this heat emergency, additional cooling centers may be open throughout Bucks County including senior centers and other facilities that are not currently part of the County’s cooling center program.

The county generally issues an Excessive Heat Warning when the National Weather Service forecasts daytime temperatures will reach 95 degrees by 11 a.m. on two or more consecutive days, or when heat indexes will reach 100 degrees on any given day.
