LOWER BUCKS COUNTY, PA — Free museum tours, a legendary church fair, sandcastles, and "The Blob" are highlights of the first weekend of the Fourth of July holiday in the Philadelphia region.
With temperatures a little cooler than the recent triple digits, this weekend may be a good one to get to other places besides the Jersey Shore.
This is a summary of some of the weekend events in Lower Bucks County and the Philadelphia region:
The NADC Museum in Warminster on the eastern Montco line will hold an open house on Sunday to celebrate the region's scientific and historical heritage. (Read More)

St. Michael and the Archangel Church in Levittown is hosting its 72nd annual fair through Sunday. Open from 6 to 10 p.m. nightly, the fair offers rides, carnival games and classic fair food. Ride tickets and wristbands are available for purchase online and at the fairgrounds at $35 per person.

Peddler's Village in Lahaska is continuing its sand sculpture display, “Sights in Sand: An American Road Trip,” which continues through Aug. 31 and features larger-than-life sand sculptures tied to landmarks and U.S. history. Click here for more information

It's the annual three-day "Blobfest" in Phoenixville that pays tribute to the classic horror movie "The Blob" in which re-enactments take place of people running out of the iconic Colonial Theatre. Click here for information

A Philadelphia music icon will return home by playing two shows of hits at the Keswick Theatre in Glenside. Todd Rundgren, who grew up in Upper Darby, will sing the classics "Hello, It's Me" and "I Saw The Light" at two performances this weekend. Click here for ticket information
