WARMINSTER TOWNSHIP, PA — The Warminster Township Police Department has released its blotter of criminal incidents for May.
These are the criminal incidents:
On routine patrol, a police officer saw a man walking on Street Road near Madison Avenue. The man is known to officers, and there is a warrant for his arrest from the Bucks County Sheriff's Office. In a search of the 44-year-old man, suspected methamphetamine was found in a pocket of his clothing. He was taken into custody and held until the Bucks County Sheriff's Department could respond to pick him up. The substance was submitted to the lab for testing, and pending the results, the man will be charged with possession of a counterfeit substance.
Police officers responded to Ivy Street for a report of an unattended fire that was melting the neighbor’s fence. The 62-year-old man advised that he had started the fire to burn some yard waste. He left the fire unattended for 25 minutes, and it burned outside the intended area. The Fire Department was called to extinguish the fire. The man will be issued a non-traffic citation for Open Burning in Warminster Township.
On routine patrol, a police officer ran a license plate to find that the registration was suspended. The officer activated lights and sirens and pulled the vehicle over. The officer ran the 43-year-old woman's name and date of birth, and a full extradition warrant came up from Colorado. The woman was taken into custody and placed under arrest. She was charged with Arrest Before Requisition for staying in Pennsylvania to avoid a warrant. The woman was arraigned before the judge, and bail was set at 10 percent f $1,000 unsecured. The Colorado Sheriff's Office was unable to provide a copy of the warrant for extradition.
Officers were dispatched to the Fuge for a report of students who had been drinking before prom. A 19-year-old man refused a Portable Breathalyzer test. Parents of the students were called to pick up their children. As one of the students was leaving, he made an obscene gesture and made comments as he was being escorted out. He will be cited for Disorderly Conduct.
Officers were dispatched to the area of Jacksonville Road and Liberty Lane for a report of a man on his hands and knees waving to vehicles passing by. When officers arrived, he was face down in the grass. Officers woke him up and he asked if they were really police officers. He was asked if he wanted to be checked out by Emergency Medical Services, which he declined. He was given a Portable Breathalyzer, which came back .201 percent. The man was given a courtesy transport home and advised that he would be receiving a citation for Public Drunkenness via the mail.
Officers were dispatched to Madison Court Apartments for a report of a domestic in progress. When officers arrived, they spoke to a man who stated he had been punched in the face by his 19-year-old brother. The 19-year-old was taken into custody, arraigned, and released on unsecured bail. Some domestic rights forms were provided to the mother of the male. The 19-year-old will be charged with Harassment and simple assault.
Officers responded to Kohl's Department Store for a report of a man cutting security tags off items and concealing them. Officers stopped a man fitting the description that Loss Prevention had given the Bucks County dispatcher. The 45-year-old man stated he did not have a knife and that he had used a diagonal cutter to remove the tags. The 45-year-old man was taken into custody. The total value of the items taken was $238.59. All items that were taken were recovered. The man was taken into custody and transported back to headquarters. Arraignment was before Judge Petrucci, and bail was set at 10% of $25,000. He was transported to Bucks County Prison and charged with Retail Theft.
