Aggressive Drivers Targeted In Lower Bucks Co.

State Police and local police will be out in force over the next few weeks on Lower Bucks County roads and highways.

LOWER BUCKS COUNTY, PA — State Police and Lower Bucks County police departments will be targeted aggressive drivers over the next few weeks.

PennDOT officials and law enforcement said the targeted enforcement seeks to reduce aggressive driving-related crashes, injuries, and fatalities on roadways throughout the Philadelphia region.

There were 2,190 aggressive driving crashes, resulting in 37 fatalities and 114 suspected serious injuries in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties last year, PennDOT said.

These Lower Bucks County police departments are involved in the initiative:

The enforcement initiative is targeting heavy-truck violations, pedestrian safety, red-light running, speeding, and tailgating, officials said.

Troopers and area police officers will use traffic enforcement zones, saturation patrols, speed enforcement details, corridor enforcement, work zone enforcement, and multi-jurisdictional patrols to identify and cite aggressive drivers.
