• Remains of Berks soldier killed in Korean War laid to rest (readingeagle.com) — Wernersville residents just helped lay to rest Army Pfc. Albert Faust, a Berks County soldier missing since fierce fighting near the Chosin Reservoir in 1950. After modern forensic work identified his remains, a service at Lamm & Witman Funeral Home in Wernersville preceded burial at Indiantown Gap, finally giving his local family long-awaited closure.
   

• Typically September temperatures in Berks with significant rainfall (readingeagle.com) — Wernersville picked up about 5.9 inches of rain in September, as Berks County saw a wetter-than-normal month that still wasn't enough to lift the ongoing drought warning. Temperatures ran slightly above average, with only one 90-degree day and an early-season nor'easter soaking eastern parts of the county late in the month.
