1 Killed In House Explosion In Chester County

Authorities are investigating after a home burst into flames overnight.

HONEY BROOK, PA — At least one person is dead after a house explosion in Chester County early Friday morning, according to authorities and media reports.

The incident occurred in Honey Brook just before 5 a.m. at a home on Hunters Run Road.

The cause of the explosion is not yet known. Photos from the scene showed a house almost entirely disintegrated by flames, and fire spreading into the woods near the home.

One person was found dead inside the home.

Crews battling the fire had to do so while the structure was collapsing, officials said.

The fire was brought under control within about an hour, by around 6 a.m., officials said.

An investigation remains underway.
