2 Arrested After Shooting At Chester County Wawa: DA

A large fight began over a black trash bag that contained marijuana, authorities said.

WEST GOSHEN TOWNSHIP, PA — Two men have been arrested after a shooting in a Wawa in Chester County over the weekend, the district attorney's office announced.

Frank Johnson, 21, of Coatesville, and Zahir Scott, 18, of Wilmington, Delaware have been charged with criminal attempted homicide, aggravated assault, and related counts. Scott also faces robbery charges.

The incident occurred on Saturday, Oct. 19 at around 2:03 p.m. at the parking lot of the store on the 700 block of East Market Street in West Goshen.

A fight erupted between a large group of people over a black trash bag filled with marijuana, police said. Eventually gunshots were fired, and the suspects fled the scene.

Johnson was pulled over by officers shortly after the shooting, and his weapon was on the floor of the car, according to the DA.

Scott, who had been shot in the foot, was arrested at Chester County Hospital, police said. His weapon was found later discarded in the grass behind a gas station.

Both men were arraigned on Sunday and booked in Chester County Prison on $1 million bail.
