2 West Chester High Schools On Philly Mag's '40 Best' List
Two high schools in the West Chester School District made Philly Mag's list of the "40 Best" in the region.
WEST CHESTER, PA — A new ranking from Philadelphia Magazine analyzes the best high schools in and around Philadelphia, and two high schools in the West Chester School District made the list.
Both Bayard Rustin and Henderson made the magazine's "40 Best Public High Schools in Philadelphia and the Suburbs."
The ranking was created after analysis of public data from Pennsylvania and New Jersey departments of education, and the National Center for Education Statistics, according to the magazine. Factors taken into account when preparing the list include graduation rates, student to teacher ratio, and SAT scores.

"These schools make up the top fifth of our separate rankings of Philadelphia district and charter schools (81 total) and suburban public schools in the Greater Philadelphia region (127 total)," the magazine said.

According to the magazine, Bayard Rustin has 1,295 students with a 96 percent graduation rate and an 92 percent college attendance rate. It's got a 14 to 1 student-teacher ratio and an average 587 verbal and 594 math SAT scores.
Henderson, meanwhile, has 1,296 students, a 96 percent graduation rate, a 92 percent college percentage rate, a 15 to 1 student-teacher ratio, and 587 verbal and 588 math average SAT scores.
