A major manufacturer is expanding their operations in Chester County, adding around 240 new jobs, Gov. Wolf's office announced.

UWCHLAN TOWNSHIP, PA — A major manufacturer is expanding their operations in Chester County, adding around 240 new jobs, Gov. Wolf's office announced.

USSC Group, which makes custom seating and fire suppression products for private and public operations, will open up a new manufacturing facility in Uwchlan.

“The decision by USSC to continue to grow right here in Pennsylvania is a great win for our commonwealth,” Gov. Wolf said in a statement announcing the expansion. “Not only does this mean more jobs for people seeking work in manufacturing, but it also demonstrates that for manufacturing companies both in and outside of the state, Pennsylvania is the place to be to grow and thrive. I applaud USSC for their commitment to the commonwealth and our workers.”

USSC is currently based out of Exton. Their new Uwchlan operation will be twice the size, at around 300,000 square feet. The project will involve an investment of about $13.2 million, and an additional 133 jobs will be added in the next three years.

The project is supported by the Department of Community and Economic Development through several grants, including a $350,000 Pennsylvania First grant, a $109,350 WEDnet grant for employee training, and a $486,000 in Job Creation Tax Credits to be issued after the new jobs are created, according to Gov. Wolf's office.
