WEST CHESTER, PA — Former Jackass star and West Chester-area resident Bam Margera is has been committed to a behavioral treatment facility, according to a recent report in TMZ.
The news comes following weeks of strange social media posts and an incident in which he reportedly threatened his manager before a comedy show.
Margera, who has gone to rehab for alcohol abuse treatment on multiple occassions, started drinking again, the TMZ report states.
The report adds that friends and family think he is suffering from a borderline personality disorder.
In an incident that was caught on camera, Margera ranted at his manager because a New York comedy club where he was scheduled to perform was empty.
Then, in several subsequent Instagram posts which were lated deleted, he made further threats against his wife.
"Addiction is a scary and complicated disease," Margera's sister in law Kelly Margera wrote in an Instagram post Monday, asking for family privacy. "Giving and receiving help is a process that is not always easy to navigate. What our family needs right now are not your words, opinions, IG comments and Facebook shares."
Margera, 39, announced he entered rehab for the third and most recent time back on Jan. 2. He had been in the midst of planning his next public party at "Castle Bam" in Pocopson Township.
