A man attempted to kidnap a child in West Chester on Wednesday, police said.

WEST CHESTER, PA — A man attempted to kidnap a child in West Chester on Wednesday, police said.
The incident occurred on Wednesday, July 17 at around 6 p.m. near the intersection of S. Penn Street and E. Barnard Street.
The suspect was a white man, standing about 5 feet, 4 inches tall, and in his 40s, authorities said. He had a bald head with black hair on the sides, as well as a black beard.

He was last seen driving a gray sedan, possibly a Kia, east on Barnard Street toward Bolmar Street.
