Chester Co. Man Kills Wife, Daughter During Argument: DA
The shooting came amid the heat of an argument over a "basic dispute," officials said.

CHESTER COUNTY, PA — A Chester County man shot and killed his wife and daughter inside their home during a heated argument last week, officials said.
Roger Hanks, 76, of Kennett Square, faces two counts of first degree murder.
"(Hanks)senselessly shot and killed his family because of a basic dispute," Chester County District Attorney Christopher L. de Barrena-Sarobe said in a statement. "It is unfathomable that anyone would react this way."

The incident occurred on April 25 at around 6:17 p.m. on the 200 block of Wiltshire Drive in East Marlborough Township.

Hanks was found inside the garage of the home when authorities arrived on the scene and was arrested without incident.
His wife and daughter were both found with multiple gunshot wounds. Officials said they used emergency life-saving measures, but they were unsuccessful. Both were declared dead on the scene.
The nature of the dispute between Hanks and his family that led to the shooting is not yet clear.
Hanks was booked at Chester County Prison without bail and a preliminary hearing is set for May 8.
