Chester Co. Man Sentenced To 8-16 Years In Prison For Firing Shots At 4 People: DA

All shots fired at the victims missed, police said.

COATESVILLE, PA — A Chester County man will spend the next 8 to 16 years in prison after shooting at four people, missing them all, authorities said.

Damonte Reason, 23, of Coatesville was convicted of aggravated assault and discharging a firearm into an occupied structure.

The incident occurred in July 2023 on the 300 block of Charles Street in Coatesville.

Reason approached the house wearing all black and blue gloves, according to the district attorney's office.

Four individuals were sitting on the porch of the home when Reason opened fire.

“Shooting guns at people means that you are going to be investigated, arrested, and sent to state prison," District Attorney Christopher de Barrena-Sarobe said in a statement.

Investigators tied Reason and his weapon to the scene using DNA evidence and the bullet casings found on the sidewalk.

The sentence was handed down on March 30 by Judge Patrick C. Carmody.
