Chester County Women’s Services Holds Fundraising Banquet & Auction
Banquet and Silent Auction Raises over $107,000 for woman and families in Chester County
COATESVILLE, PA - May 4, 2017 - Chester County Women’s Services (CCWS), a local non-profit pregnancy care medical center, raised over $107,000 at their annual fundraising banquet and silent auction on May 1, 2017 at the Downingtown Country Club in Downingtown, Pennsylvani
230 guests attended the evening banquet which included a reception hour with over 70 silent auction baskets, hors d’oeuvres, live music and a photo booth. Following the reception was a formal dinner and presentation emceed by State Representative Eric Roe. CCWS Executive Director, Myriam Ruager was the main speaker. Pastor Van Ness from Olive Street Presbyterian Church (Coatesville, PA) blessed the meal. Dr. Aaron Chambers also presented.
The theme of the evening, “Rise”, was depicted with a hot air balloon raffle, graphics, and decorations. During Ruager’s speech, she stated, “We are all called to Rise and not fall. Hope is an anchor for the soul. Women facing unplanned pregnancies need to know that hope will keep their soul safe and secure in the midst of life’s storms.”

The funds raised will help further the CCWS mission of saving the lives of unborn children and offering hope to women and families facing unplanned pregnancies. Roe noted, “Last year CCWS had 38 abortion minded clients and 31 of them chose life after coming to the center.” Roe also shared that The Knights of Columbus Council 11319 have committed two brand new ultrasound machines, one for the Kennett Square Center and the other for the West Chester Office, in memory of their friend and champion for life, Joan Carbo.
The evening’s presenting sponsor was Stillman Volvo, West Chester, PA. Live music was provided by vocalist Danni Peace, cellist Isaac Brooks and pianist Josh Howard.

CCWS is a Pregnancy Care Medical Center that exists to educate and empower individuals and their families to make life-affirming choices. All services are 100% free and offered in both English and Spanish. Families are supported physically, emotionally, and financially through basic pregnancy care, parenting education, peer counseling, a homeless prevention program and community referrals. Offices are located in Coatesville, Kennett Square and West Chester.
