Chester County Women's Services Moves to W. Market Street

Moving to the Front Lines!

On February 1, 2018 Chester County Women’s Services (CCWS), a local crisis pregnancy medical center, opened its new West Chester location at 139 W. Market Street.

Formerly located on Church Street, the center moved in an effort to bring more awareness to the services that CCWS offers women and families in the Chester County community. “By positioning CCWS in the heart of West Chester, our footprint will be more visible,” stated Executive Director, Myriam Ruager. “We are also closer to the abortion facility, providing a greater opportunity to intercede clients and help them learn of the hope and options that are available as an alternative to abortion.”

The center is open and serving families now, but there is still a large need for new furniture and organization solutions. "We want each woman and family who walks through our doors to immediately feel welcomed and comforted. Having new furniture and decor will help us create a feeling of serenity for our community," stated Ruager. "We invite the community to stop in for a visit. We would love to have the opportunity to give you a tour and share more about the services we provide to help those in our community who need it most."

Just last year, CCWS served over 2,000 women and families with medical and educational visits throughout Chester County. The medical services include pregnancy tests, limited-ultrasounds, prenatal vitamins and proof of pregnancy. Educational visits include abortion facts and alternatives, sexual integrity information, adoption guidance, and parenting and discipline support. CCWS also assists with community referrals and client-earned material assistance.

CCWS is a Pregnancy Care Medical Center that exists to educate and empower individuals and their families to make life-affirming choices. All services are 100% free and offered in both English and Spanish. Families are supported physically, emotionally, and financially through basic pregnancy care, parenting education, peer counseling, a homeless prevention program and community referrals. Offices are located in Coatesville, Kennett Square and West Chester. CCWS is a 501c(3) non-profit organization that is 90% volunteer-based and operates 100% on donations from individuals, churches and businesses.
