Chesterbrook Academy Teacher Named Apple Distinguished Educator

West Chester teacher Erika Moser joins recognized community of more than 2,800 education innovators around the world

Chesterbrook Academy Elementary School in West Chester is pleased to announce that technology and music teacher Erika Moser has been selected as a member of the Apple Distinguished Educators (ADE) Class of 2019 for her use of technology to individualize students’ educational experiences and for finding unique ways to excite students about learning.

“We are very proud that Erika has been recognized as an Apple Distinguished Educator. We have seen her passion, commitment and innovation in the classroom at Chesterbrook Academy for the past eight years, and it is no surprise that she is now in such elite company,” said Joe Rodia, Principal of Chesterbrook Academy Elementary School. “Erika’s ability to find individual success in every student she interacts with is impressive and something I hope to see in all educators at our school. With this recognition, we look forward to our school community continuing to evolve and become a more rigorous, innovative and fun place for our students to learn.”

By being selected as an ADE, Moser joins a recognized international community of creators and innovators. Apple created the ADE Program in 1994 to recognize K-12 and higher education pioneers who are using Apple technology to transform teaching and learning in powerful ways. Celebrating 25 years, the program has grown into a worldwide community of more than 2,800 visionary and innovative leaders in education, helping other educators rethink what’s possible with iPad and Mac.

“It is an honor to join this elite group of globally recognized educators. As an Apple Distinguished Educator, I am looking forward to connecting, learning and sharing with a larger network of creative and innovative minds,” said Moser. “Technology empowers our learners to view themselves as problem-solvers, innovators, designers, creators and storytellers. Their voices matter, and each day they can tell their stories by creating movies, composing music, coding and much more. The opportunities to share what happens at Chesterbrook Academy with a larger audience will be rewarding for our entire community.”

Moser’s recognition follows Chesterbrook Academy Elementary School being named an Apple Distinguished School in 2018.
